Perception

Instructions for feeling a feeling....

By Alicia AnspaughPublished about 17 hours ago 1 min read

Perception.

Perception vs reality

Things are never truly as they seem and are colored by our perception of them

Which says more about ourselves than it does the subject of our perception.

Perception can be altered with a stray fact, word, or feeling

And much like a feeling...it comes and goes.

We feel our feelings, but they are not us

One dances into our mind

And just as quickly, it leaves and is replaced by a new variety of feeling.

Feelings are insubstantial and fleeting...unstable but oh so influential.

People give up all that they have built, leave families, shatter lives, due to a feeling.

Conversely, we build great works, care for others tirelessly, give of ourselves without measure due to a feeling.

So, Instructions for a feeling:

Let it in

Let it flow through you like water

Let it wash away

Without coloring your perception of what is.

Feel your feelings

Release them

Acknowledge that they are a PART of you, they are not the whole

Instructions for a feeling

In the end, it all comes down to perception.

Look past your perception.

As Things are rarely as they seem
