Ode to Green

By: Tamila Kianfard

Oh, Jade, though associated with fortune,

Bringing hope and luck to one’s heart,

Sometimes works alongside the monster,

They call Green;

But with this you harvest growth and compassion,

A conduit of love, a preserver of change,

Money cannot buy your nature,

Not even emerald’s conceit or vain,

Your optimism and peace far exceed,

The drive behind jealousy and greed,

Like the raw Colombian mineral,

Dowsed in poison;

Dipped in the elixir of Truth,

Adapting to alchemy,

Like Venus, becomes polished and beautiful—

The stone of successful love,

As the sadness of rain’s blue hues,

Merged with happy rays in sunshine yellow,

Leads to the sagaciousness--

Of the wise old Sage

About the Creator

Tamila Kianfard

Tamila Kianfard is a humanitarian, but in her spare time, she’s pretty much a mermaid (yes, really) with a deep love for protecting our oceans and passion for RECYCLING—she {shamelessly} urges everyone she meets to do the same.
