Dozing off post-lunch when I should be working
Inevitably leads to poor self-esteem
Surfing the internet, seeing beautiful faces
That I will never meet.
Racing to get my work done, realizing it's never finished
Asking myself why I do this to myself
Can't I just have a normal work day?
Trying to write my fiction, even though I'm burnt out
Immortalizing these thoughts and characters
On the pages of a book, sometimes feels like a chore for later...
No. Now I think I'll write.
