Nine Months Have Passed
My sister misses her husband.

Gary, the time has flown by
Since you had to die.
Pneumonia is what you had.
It made you feel really bad.
I know you tried to hang on
Before you were truly gone.
I hope your wife got to say good-bye.
I know she had to cry.
What words did she want to say
Before you went away?
You were married fourteen years
And wiped each other's tears.
She won't forget memories you shared.
Both of you knew each other cared.
She knew your pain was great,
And death would be your fate.
I'm sure she thinks of you each day.
You watch her silently pray.
Many times she feels you near
And wishes you were here.

love your write up, well done๐
This is a beautiful remembrance of your sister's husband.
So sad but a beautiful tribute, Darla. Surely Gary watches over your sister and hears her prayers.
I had to hold back tears Darla, I could see you put your heart and soul in this one and this is why I loved it so much. โYou watch her silently prayโ you know exactly how to pull at our heart strings. I also love this line โI hope your wife got to say goodbyeโ. I am a sucker for empathy shown through any kind of written work.
