I whispered the words
Into a jar and
Sealed the top on tightly.
Placed it up high
Upon my shelf, where
I could always
Visit it nightly.
Forever kept safe
A promise to
My past, yet presently
disclosing—
My own exposing,
Transparently within
What I’m enclosing.
