Could it be that we are strangers,

or passers-by on the street,

in a tormented, tragic story

where we will never meet?

Who would share a love that was so pure

it edged on the divine,

that sent ripples through the universe

transcending space and time?

But for every good there must be a bad,

a balance to be maintained,

and the price to pay for a love like that

the world cannot afford to make.

Thus we remain strangers,

fated to be apart,

so that others may live their lives

in a world that’s not so dark.
