Life is a Beach

And fear is the ocean...

Life is a beach, and fear is the ocean.

Sometimes still and calm -

Quietly seeping into the sand below.

Sometimes thrashing and violent -

Only safe from a distance.

With tides rising and falling, rising and falling,

Life is a beach, and fear is the ocean.

Life is a beach, and love is the sand.

Sometimes in open air -

Free to do as it wants.

Sometimes below the ocean -

Weighed down by the depths.

With dunes rising and falling, rising and falling,

Life is a beach, and love is the sand.

Life is a beach, and hate is the wind.

Sometimes hard to notice -

Slowly wearing away at the sand.

Sometimes hard to miss -

Whipping at the sand and enraging the ocean.

With velocity rising and falling, rising and falling,

Life is a beach, and hate is the wind.

Life is a beach, and freedom the gulls.

Sometimes abundant -

Lively, swarming, and wild.

Sometimes too far out -

Flying away with no safe place to land.

With wings rising and falling, rising and falling,

Life is a beach, and freedom is the gulls.
