Kindness

A not so random act

Head down

And busy

No one noticed

But you

Saw outside your skin

To the pressing pain

Within another

Soft and

So sweetly

Honey gentle

In your care

To bind wounds

Dripping sorrow

Waiting to heal

A drop of relief

In an ocean

Rippling with grief

Kindness clings like

A mother

Rocking comfort

In a night

Wound like a noose

Tight around our throats

More than

Random acts

Greeting card trite

And saccharine

Kindness spins hope

To another dawn

Whispering better days

Are ahead

Let’s not suffer in silence. Let’s use our words. Let them drip from the screen to move our hearts, challenge our minds, and enrich our time. Here are mine. Really looking forward to reading what others have to say.
