I Wish

My eyes have seen too much sorrow and pain

I Wish

I wish I could erase,

From my eyes, the things I’ve seen—

Shadows clawing, silent screams,

Haunted faces, broken dreams.

I wish I could close my eyes and be free,

To not see what I did see.

In my score years, I witnessed hell,

I wish I could erase and never dwell.

The images burn, refuse to fade,

In the depths of my mind, they’ve stayed.

Though I close my eyes to hide,

They linger still, deep inside.

The sights remain, a heavy chain,

Echoes of loss, shadows of pain.

If only my mind could let them go,

To find some peace, to heal and grow.

But here I stand, the scars still near,

A silent burden, a quiet fear.

I wish for freedom, a soul set free,

To unsee the things that shattered me.

Good job. I think at times we wish we could all do this from time to time.
