I Wait For You

Soft in my ever

By Nicole DevineyPublished 3 years ago Updated 3 years ago 1 min read

You lay your head next to me

Soft hand in my bent one

No word need be said

As your eyes alit upon mine

In deep eyes of blue

Not only love do I see

Pain as you do weep

I am not long for this life

We knew this was nigh

No more can I walk or run

My arms are too weak to hold

But this I can vow

When you hear the wind blow

Or feel the curl of your hair

Just know it is me, my love

With you, now till the sun ends

I have shed my last tear

I fear you will have many more

My oath is I am not gone

I rest in your soul

Bury me with your ring

It is our bond with no end

In this life and the next

I will wait for you, my dear

Give me one last kiss

Look to the face of our moon

As I sink off into the dark

Easy cold tide, I sail away

To wait for you

Soft in my ever

About the Creator

Nicole Deviney

My sister says I'm haunted. Guess that's why they say "Write what you know". If I have to deal with it, dear reader, then so do you. I throw in the occasional sweet story, just for a palette cleanser...enjoy!
