I fear love like how you fear too

Is this how love feels

By KodahPublished 2 years ago Updated 2 years ago 1 min read

Mind of imagination

Is where you existed

So I close my eyes

And my world crumbles.

There you are

Standing in the distance

Waiting for my head to touch your chest

To hear your heartbeat

It's not just a heartbeat though

Its sounds...

Echoing through thin skin

Where trust isn't valued in reality

I hear more sounds

I hear love

He wants to make love to me

But he fears it

I can feel the fear too

He fears the pain

To cause it

But also to feel it.

I'm imagining a blue river of tears

A sea of missed opportunities

And faded promises

Is he lying to me?

To love me like this is to love...

Is this how love always feels~ ?

This poem is simultaneously tangible and ephemeral, amorous and melancholy. Well done, Kodah!
