How Dare You

an independent woman’s nightmare…

You wake me up

with green juice

and a cortado.

How dare you,

make

my mind

mush?

The sweet hum

of your kiss

as my alarm clock.

How dare you?

Passion

pressure-point

pushed.

A back scratch,

and a bear hug,

to start the day;

how dare you.

Arms adorning

absolute

admiration.

Our dogs cuddled

at my feet,

already taken out,

how dare you?

Warrior

walking

wiggle-worms.

My thoughts

are only tamed

by your calm gaze.

How dare you.

Stilling

storms;

speaking silence.

You won’t let me touch

a dollar or door handle

when you’re around.

How dare you?!

The man of my dreams,

jumped into reality,

and finally tamed me.

No subtle feat.

How. Dare. You.
