Guy in French

A Sliding Sonnet

I am not called Guy; I am Guy in French

It sounds better whether I am a guy

Or a misnomer I want to unclench

From every Guy for a final goodbye

Why Guy, why now, why anything at all

To Guy or not to Guy is my question

Before any future human downfall

Becomes permanently in recession

I do not know M or Anthi, his gal

He seems to know me and my lightweight plight

Ce n’est assurément pas un grand mal*

But he cares enough to make it his fight

I seem to be sliding towards the end

I wonder if I have made one new friend

-----

* It is certainly not a great evil. Dedicated to every Guy.
