Gone, but never forgotten

My memories of you may fade, but my love will always remain

I will always remember you.

You will always have a place in my heart.

When I lost you, a piece of my heart broke, a piece that will never be whole again.

I can try to fill it with love, but there will always be a hole.

A draft.

I never knew true pain until your light went out.

I still remember that day.

I lost you when I was only a child, but you meant everything to me.

And as I grow older, my memories of you fade. I can hardly remember your voice now.

Life is so unfair.

I love you. I will always love you.

They say pain only makes you stronger, but I feel weaker than ever.

Could I even bear it if I lost anyone else?

Could I ever be strong again?

You were gone too soon.

I never got to know you as an adult.

You never got to see me get married.

And you will never get the chance to meet our child.

If you can, I know you’re watching — seeing him grow up.

Even now, I cry for you.

I miss you.

You’re gone, but never forgotten.
