Gluttony.
A love that eats itself.
The world now walks the path that you laid,
But still, you steal, you lie, you trade.
-
Your hands have held every desire,
Yet still they shake with greed and fire.
-
I’ve lived and danced amongst your flame,
Not once did you pause to preserve my name.
-
You ate, you fed, you sucked me dry,
You smiled and watched me melt and die.
-
Who are you to say, what I am, what I’m not?
You just pushed me alongside your personal plot.
-
I am not what you say, I am not what you do.
I am not what you are, I will never be you.
-
See, riches are not owned, they are loved and outlived,
In lack of these you have no true currency to give.
-
So silently, I thank you for the pain I went through,
For without it, I’d never stand sure this is true.
