Fragments

I loved you in fragments because your pieces weren’t whole.

I loved you in fragments because your pieces weren’t whole.

You shined your artificial light to hide your corroded soul.

I fell for bitter words you deceptively dipped in your honey.

You gave me stormy nights but left my mornings sunny.

I swam in the stars reading the story of our defective fate.

You crafted your narrative that I would be content to wait.

I heard the siren’s song guiding me out of the darkness.

You stood frozen on your tower, seething in your hardness.

I bathe in the light of the moon as your poison drains away.

You remain monotonous in the shadows of your prosaic decay.
