A poem about freedom

Born to a world that’s cruel and ruthless

They pick her apart. Leave her breathless

A girl with a soul that could save the world

They beat her down. Emotions crippled.

She tries to be strong and use her voice

But it is weak and drowned by the noise

Hush little girl because you don’t matter

Her heart is crushed. Begins to shatter.

Alone at night she begins to dream

Of a beautiful place she’s never seen

She feels the pull and knows her place

It’s time to leave and make an escape

Afraid and alone she begins her climb

To embrace the world. It’s her time.

Dancing in deserts. Dive in the ocean

A true vagabond always in motion

The voices at time try to bring her down

She locks them away. Adjusts her crown

A true warrior and bird forever free

She broke the chains of destiny.
