Eternally Yours

A supernatural poem.

In the dead of the darkness beneath midnight's calling

I feel the sounds of the night barricading me from you

The rumble of movement as the heavens quake and the ground shakes

Sinking deeper into the abyss of nowhere, just falling through

-

Something inside me wants to part my lips and loudly scream

Frozen in the grasp of your ways holds me back

Begging for this to be unreal as the sinking continues

For a white knight and shining steed to come to my aid and attack

-

The voice beckons me to accept the offer of this eternal fate

Burrowing through to the depths of the soul, I cannot fight

The question rapidly becomes, do I even want to anymore

One musn't give in to the temptations, remembering to take flight

-

Hide from the changes and the daunting tasks of life

Be not ashamed as you cower beneath the covers

If you surrender, you lose the choice to fight

Bound for together for all time, as eternal lovers

Reminds me of an almost wet dream I once upon a time had.

This description of being trapped in darkness and the struggle to resist is intense. It makes me think of times when life feels overwhelming and you gotta find the strength to break free.
