When I go out to sing,
Bold and sparkly is my thing.
I paint my face to glittering,
A rainbow peace paint that I bring.
Eye shadow a mask of galaxy coloring,
Eyeliner wings upward tilting,
And downward spiraling,
Flowering.
Lips rouged in midnight blue, powdered aquamarine.
I am an entertainer, a dancing queen,
A tribal goddess keen to preen,
Fluffing my feathers, noting their sheen,
Strutting my stuff and making a scene.
I don attire made to be seen:
A corset upon my breast, laced up tight,
Tie-dyed skinny jeans that started out white,
Cinched sash skirt shimmering like kyanite.
Pretty, heeled boots to add some height,
Hair shaved up on the sides, teased timburtonesque, to stick out right,
Wildly beautiful, a violet-sky-colored delight.
I shine as brightly as the stars at night,
Getting paid in smiles that I ignite,
The richest currency to invite.
I strive to be the most colorful person in sight,
To be all that I might,
Dancing the rhythm of the night.
My local karaoke bar is where I belong,
Singing Aerosmith and others to the throng.
When I sing, I throw passion into my song,
Belting it out loud and strong.
I use music to right all that's wrong;
Karaoke is medicine, so please sing along!
Eccentricity is my game.
One day you'll know my name.
My art will be the cause of fame.
My paintings, lovely, are fit to frame.
I weave dream catchers that, under blacklight, are bright as a flame.
And some of my paintings glow the same.
I can do anything I set this artist mind to.
I can take a picture of you tying your shoe,
Crop it and edit it to curve up the hue,
And kaleidoscope it into something that's new,
Put it on a tapestry and sell it to you.
And I can do the same with this cool thing I drew.
Aside from the get-up I wear on the night,
And my spirited singing of songs that delight,
My optimistic attitude that flies like a kite,
My artistic stride and the way that I write,
I also love to read for adventure that's tight,
And study science and math to keep my mind bright.
I am unique in so many ways,
And I can count those ways for days.
But I'm running out of time to the deadline that pays.
You know this poem slays,
So please give me a raise.
Let me capitalize on these word plays,
So I can shine brighter than sunlight rays!
I want to teach my children two,
That if you work hard, dreams can come true!
