Peaceful Apprehension

There was a time when I wondered when the chaos would end

I didn’t want all out drama to be my only friend

I couldn't get the clock to slow down or find time to make memories

Now the silence is an apprehensive opportunity

One incomprehensible deal after another

I thought I was finished only to find out later

That the problems had piled up and I was the waiter

Now I don't mind helping or being a source of support

But it's kind of hard to handle when the ball's in someone else's court

I don't need admiration or faked enthusiasm in the end

But when you fake your own success and show too much pride

What kind of message are you trying to send

One incomprehensible deal after another

I thought I was finished only to find out later

That the problems had piled up and I was the waiter

I feel like I'm only needed when you want to use me for all I'm worth

There's no appreciation just spit in the face

And as soon as you need something else you want me to give you grace

But I've lived this story a time or two

And I'm tired of dropping everything just to have my life come unglued

One incomprehensible deal after another

I thought I was finished only to find out later

That the problems had piled up and I was the waiter

Catastrophic Immunity

Can we just take a beat and realize the catastrophe

That's unfolding in front of our eyes

Blind you see

Because the topic of empathy has been overrun by aggressive immunity

And now communication is so crucial

In a world full of refusal

Responsibility and compassion aren't our downfall

If we embrace them we might not fall

Get back up and watch them turn their heads

Like what they saw wasn't really there

But there's no arguing with the truth

Denial will create more damage instead of soothe

And now communication is so crucial

In a world full of refusal

Responsibility and compassion aren't our downfall

If we embrace them we might not fall

Though it seems like darkness is overtaking common sense

It still can be fought if people break down the fence

Or the wall that symbolizes unethical divide

Bond together

We might as well try

And now communication is so crucial

In a world full of refusal

Responsibility and compassion aren't our downfall

If we embrace them we might not fall

Mockery of the Mind

I'm not sure if what you're saying is a mockery

In the failed world of hypocrisy

You tell me what to do and try to dictate how I live

But I don't feel like you care as much as you pretend to put out

And we've run this fame once or twice

You'll be mean and turn around and be nice

You've wanted control all my life

But I keep running away from all of this strife

Sometimes I mix up a voice of care and reason

With what is truly supposed to be decent

You can't want so hard for emotions to be real

And when you remember the past

The layers start to peel

And we've run this fame once or twice

You'll be mean and turn around and be nice

You've wanted control all my life

But I keep running away from all of this strife

There's part of me that broke free from this game

Throughout time it has caused immense pain

I try not to get caught up when speaking about the past

Because when we have one good moment I want it to last

And we've run this fame once or twice

You'll be mean and turn around and be nice

You've wanted control all my life

But I keep running away from all of this strife
