Deep Hush

Summer ending means I yearn for the lake even more

Sinking, sinking deep beneath the tide,

I cannot hear the world above me.

Light itself can barely reach these depths where

Entities scurry and swim by my consciousness.

Never has there been such echoing quiet,

Certain that even the gods themselves fear

Entering this hushed void- but not I.
