December Gods
a poem caught between the seasons

Lost in the ways
Of old
Unfinished ends
We let the days
Turn cold
Between our hands
Not nearly bold
Enough
To take it down
We almost called
A half
Unsaid and done
Against the odds
We are still warm
To touch
December gods
That get reborn
In March
