Take me home the long way.

Down long country roads;

wind blowing in my hair all cares cease to exist.

I invite you to remember all the summertime love and relax;

like a first kiss let's make this last.

time is of the essence don't make this another day in the past

Take me home the long way you know-how.

help me remember the girl I lost before.

They say forgive and never forget

But for tonight;

take me the long way down those country roads.

Baby let's just unwind and see where the road takes us;

Honey for you are my only my one and only.

Throughout the years we have been through thick and thin;

you can take the girl out of the country,

But, you just can't take the country out of the girl.

We have plenty of time to be together.

So, let's make this thing forever my love.

So take me down the country roads the long way home like old times.

Laughing and listening to our favorite tunes.

There's no one else I want in this moment or in the future.

Take me home the long way;

down long country roads again.
