A Poem

Come to bed my love,

And reintroduce me,

To the man I married,

All those years ago.

Lie with your wife,

Embrace our devotion,

Remind me of romance,

The kind I used to know.

Join under sheets,

Reunite airy whispers,

And tease masterfully,

Curling and sliding slow.

Make a girl a woman,

Make age recede,

Make me remember life,

Before you had to go.

I leave doors open,

Each and every night,

I stay awake ‘til dawn,

Sleeping in the morrow.

The nurses worry,

They say my mind is gone,

But you’ll come back for me,

And love away the woe.
