Cleve's Sonnet 03

Sixty Summers

Cleve's Sonnet 03 -Sixty Summers

These last sixty summers we've shared as husband and wife

Such summers again and again I would gladly redo

There is nothing more worthwhile that I could do with my life

Than spend all the rest of my summers sharing them with you

Sixty summers all in a row, sixty summers where does time go

Summers in the bayous, others in California's Hollywood Hills

Several in Massachusetts, a couple sipping wine in Tuscany, although

The first was in Atlanta where we tied the knot and merged our bills

We will never forget the summer we spent in chateaus in France

Or the several we spent in in England and the time in Stratford

The visits to the Jurassic Coast whenever we had the chance

The hillside villages of Sicily or the fairy-like spires of Oxford

Such summers we have had, and many more there are to come

Travelling hand and hand to more adventures, travelling together as one
