All I am to you is the chores

Do the dishes

Clean the floors

Make the money

Work work work

Don't think about

anything funny

We have become stressed

And less

like ourselves

I'm not at my best

I feel like I'm

Falling from the shelf

This life I'm in

Is not right

I've been waiting

And waiting

For my dreams to take flight

I hope one day they might

Because I want to be loved

I wanted to cared for

I want the romance

The sex, everything

That makes us our best.

I want the fairy tale.

I want it so badly.

Raw, honest, and aching with quiet desperation. You captured what so many feel but struggle to say—yearning for more than just survival. Beautifully expressed.
