Chilly, a word that brings a shiver
Of winds that howl, and weather that quiver
Of frosty air, and skies so gray
A sign that winter, is on its way
It creeps in slowly, with a chill so cold
A blanket of snow, that covers old
And young alike, with a icy touch
That numbs the skin, and tests the clutch
Chilly, it’s a time for warm fires
And hot cocoa, that never tires
For snuggling up, in a cozy bed
And watching the snowflakes, dance overhead
It’s a time for laughter, and love to grow
For friends to gather, and candles to glow
For moments to cherish, and memories to hold
And the warmth of love, to never grow old
So let us embrace, this chilly time
And find the joy, that it can bring to our mind
For in its chill, we find the light
And through the winter, we will shine bright.
