Because You’re Still Looking at Me 💖
A poem of love, distance, and the ache of farewell

Each evening, by the window of my dreams,
I long to see your honey-sweet face once more.
Because your eyes still hold my name,
My heart overflows — endlessly, silently.
Line after line, I draw your image again and again,
Until my soul forgets where I end and you begin.
Rain has fallen in your city tonight,
And the water rests upon your windowpane.
A thousand quiet sorrows wrap around my heart,
Yet still — I keep loving you in between the pain.
Because you’re still looking at me,
I drift through the city of dreams.
Every time I try to turn away,
I find myself watching you again.
I want to lose myself
Along these winding roads,
Among the unknown crowd,
In the wild wind and restless rain.
Smiles and laughter fill this heart of mine,
Yet somehow, I keep fading away inside.
Because you’re still looking at me —
Still, I drift through waves of sorrow,
And in their hush,
I whisper my last goodbye.

Shazzed, this poem captures the tender ache of distance with haunting grace. Your imagery of rain, windows, and reflection beautifully mirrors the emotional duality of love and longing.
