A Second Look
Pushed around, played as a clown? There's always a second chance to prove them wrong.
I.
Kicked around,
shoved to the ground.
The first time
for anything, I'm a clown.
II.
But a second look
I made sure it took
And the doubters?
Their foundations I shook.
III.
I'll be beat battered and bruised.
But dammit I'll fight this rouse.
The first shot I'm a fool
The second I will not lose.
IV.
Some call it quits
when they lose their wits
Not me,
for I'll give my opponents fits.
V.
Because giving in
is a kick in the shin.
Shake it off and keep going
and get that win.
Vl.
That's my second look
with grit and grime it took.
But keep going I will,
Until I reach the final hook.
