72 degrees

How’s the weather?

By MadlebePublished about 14 hours ago 1 min read

Can you appreciate me

when I’m not 72 degrees

with a light breeze?

Will you stay

if I’m a heat advisory?

Apologies

if you melt around me

or suffer

from dehydration.

I’m working on

keeping my cool.

I have a bad habit

of

throwing thunderstorms

when things don’t go well—

I deluge everything in my path,

making even sentiments soggy.

Relationships

and aspirations

fall

like leaves in autumn.

I’m usually

gone with the wind

So It’s hard

to rake it all together.

Pumpkin spice lattes,

Halloween candy,

and

Grandma’s cranberry sauce

can’t sweeten my situation.

As the days pass,

I grow colder—

hibernating from society,

frozen

in lamentation.

Developed frostbite

from trying

to make angels.

I don’t know

if

peppermint,

hot chocolate

and presents

are worth it.

Will you seek

shelter-

or the uniqueness

of my snowflakes—

from the negative 20

Diamond dust?

With

a little sunlight,

affirmations,

and a green thumb

I’ll bloom.

By the time

I sprout

will I be without you?
