Overthinking

It's Torture

To all my over-thinkers, all the over-analyzers, to all my readers - old and new, how do you feel in this moment in time? I genuinely want to know how you feel. And please don't say "I'm okay" or "I'm fine", how are you? How's your soul? Are you hurting?

If you are... why are you hurting?

Does it feel like your ribs have collapsed onto your lungs? And every time you breathe in it hurts? As if your ribs are actually striking your lungs with every breath?

Does it feel like your heart has literally broken into itty bitty pieces and you can't get to them?

Does it feel like you overthought something that was so simple?

Does it feel like you lost something so beautiful? So pure?

Can you pinpoint where all of this pain is coming from?

If you can't, then maybe you should take a step back for a moment and think. Go through everything that has happened in recent days, weeks, or even months.

Are you trying to block it out? If you are, don’t. Let’s work through it

Now that you've done that, can you pinpoint where the pain is coming from?

If you can, you're not alone.

I know exactly how you feel...

We've all been there before

However, I have something to tell you to help you see the bright side of things.

Do you realize how much you've just gained? Even by just letting yourself feel these emotions.

Do you realize that something greater is right there in front of you?

Do you realize that you've just gained another battle scar and you're going to be stronger because of it? Your mindset will change, and you won't do the same things over again. You'll do things differently.

You will grow and you will change, and you will be happy

One day you won't overthink so much

One day you'll meet someone who makes it all so simple

One day you'll hear THAT song and won't feel sad

One day you'll be able to drive or walk down a certain road and you won't be reminded of everything that happened

You won't be crying into your pillow late at night

You won't be wondering where you went wrong because you'll realize everything's right now

You won't feel broken

You'll realize all your pieces are back together again

You'll also realize that you're not taped, glued, or stapled back together

You'll realize you have cracks, but everything is better than it used to be

So, you may be overthinking right now, but you'll be okay

One day you won't overthink so much

You won't overanalyze

One day you'll be able to smile and laugh without a care in the world just like you used to

And when that day comes

You'll look back and think "I did it" because you did do it…

YOU did it...

You moved on

You were able to love again

You were able to love another

You were able to smile

Able to laugh

You are capable of so much and one day you'll accomplish so much

So let it hurt, then let it go

Take your time, take it slow

Remember, when it feels like you take 2 steps back for every step forward, you are being given a chance to do it differently

And lastly, don’t ever say “I wish I was the person I was before ____”

Because the person you were then might have been cool and all but you’ve gained so much knowledge, resilience, confidence, strength, etc.

You have grown

Even if it wasn’t in the best conditions, you did it
