What Is Driving Me Now That I've Already Made Money - Rema
Rema opens up

Nigerian Afrobeats superstar Rema is at the top of his game and in his time in the music industry, he has made a lot of money and success, far more than many people can dream of making in their lifetimes. But still, the young singer is grinding more than ever and is still at the top of his game operating with a hunger and drive that has not wavered since he first burst onto the scene. Now, in a new interview with Thoughts In A Culli, the "Calm Down" singer is opening up about what exactly is driving him now at this point in his life and career. Here's what Rema had to say.

During his interview, Rema was asked "You seem like a very driven individual. At this point in your career, where does the drive and motivation come from to be more successful and take your career to even further heights than you've already taken it?" He responded:
REMA: Prophecies. My spiritual senses are very high. And sometimes you actually meet your goal and you're like what's next? It's like you want to make 100 billion but why do you want to make 100 billion? Sometimes we just want to make money and then when the money comes, there's no plan for the money.
For me, it's not money. It got to a point where it was like I have my own dream and you will not even know if I already achieved my dream two years ago. You don't even know right now what I'm chasing right now is somebody else's dream who helped me to achieve my own dream. Do you get me? So sometimes it changes. It might be your dream but sometimes the people who help you achieve your dreams, you have to return the favor somehow.
Yes, you want to make the money but why do you want to make the money? Let's say we want to get our mum that fancy car, that's her dream. But we just take it up on ourselves like it's our own dream. Right? But we indirectly want to make other people's dreams come true in addition to our own dream. So sometimes, it's my purpose, but sometimes it's actually what people want to see in life. It's what people want to achieve. I have that as my drive. And then some people are just like "you can be this" and I'm like yeah? If you can think this, then so be it.
I have a song, it's not out, but I said: if the vision was not for me, then why did it come to me in the beginning? Have you not heard times when people are like "shit, this guy did this thing, I thought of that first?" It happens all the time. It came to you because it was possible. But you ignored it or maybe you were procrastinating, or maybe you didn't just do it in the right time that it needed to be done. It will run to another person that is ready. And that's what it's like for me. If the vision is not for me, then why did it come to me in the beginning? Saying big 4, I have to live up to that. It's a prophecy.
