2 Months Later, Tems Finally Talks About Her Short Verse on Beyonce's Song "Move"
Tems talks about Beyonce feature

Nigerian singer Tems is on top of the world right now. In the Nigerian music industry, she is by far one of the most successful artistes right now. Since bursting on to the scene, Tems has gone on to do things that a lot of Afrobeats artistes have only dreamed of. She got a number 1 song on the Billboard Hot 100. She did the soundtrack song for the new Black Panther movie. She has recorded songs with some of the biggest names in music worldwide including Drake, and very recently, Beyonce.
On Beyonce's latest album, Renaissance, Tems is on the tenth track titled "Move" along with Beyonce herself and Jamaican artiste and legend, Grace Jones. Tems has a short part in the middle of the song where she sings the lyrics: "Who this girl in the back of the room? / Who this girl in the back of the room? / Who this girl in the back of the room? / It's the groove, it's the Yoncé groove / Who this girl in the back of the room? / Who this girl in the back of the room? / It's the groove, it's the Yoncé groove / It's a party in the hotel room"
Her short verse got the internet abuzz, and now during a new interview with British GQ, Tems is talking about the song, where she was when it came out, and her thoughts about it. Here's what Tems said.

Speaking about where she was when the song "Move" came out, Tems said:
I had a show the night before, so on Friday [the day the song came out], I was just sleeping the whole day.
Speaking about the song itself and her being on the track with both Beyonce and Grace Jones, Tems said:
It’s iconic. You’re never really sure until it comes out. And it wasn’t something that I was focused on [or] keeping track of. Of course it means something to me. If someone told my five-year-old self listening to Destiny’s Child that one day you’re going to have a song with one of them, I might just be confused.
Beyonce is not the only international celebrity Tems has met. Not too long ago, she also met with Drake. When asked about that, she chose to rather not talk about it. All she said about it was:
Just because you meet and work with someone, doesn’t mean you know them. I mean, he lives in Canada. I live in Nigeria.
Another international singer Tems got the chance to meet was Rihanna, and according to Tems, Rihanna told her to stop being so humble. She said:
I just have this chill thing going on. She was like, 'You need to be that bitch you know you are.' She is the coolest babe on Earth. I’ve not worked with her yet, but it’s gonna happen. Everybody I said I would work with, I’ve worked with. Wiz, Drake. Every single person.
