(File 21) Boolossus – “The Giant Boo”
By: InkMouse

SUBJECT DESIGNATION: Boolossus – “The Giant Boo”
CLASS: Type VII Amalgamate Entity (Collective / Aggressive Manifestation)
CONTAINMENT STATUS: Fragmented and Secured within Portrait Frame #016, “The Divided One”
THREAT LEVEL: High (Predatory / Group-Conscious)
IDENTIFICATION
Apparent Age: Indeterminate (Estimated collective age range of individual Boos: 25–60 years)
Gender: N/A (Composite Entity)
Manifested Appearance: A massive, spherical ghost composed of numerous lesser Boos merged together. Exhibits the characteristic grin and fanged maw of a Boo, though magnified to monstrous proportions. When damaged or startled, the singular body shatters into dozens of smaller Boos that scatter before recombining.
BIOGRAPHICAL RECORD
Boolossus is not a singular ghost in the traditional sense but an ectoplasmic fusion—a union of multiple Boo spirits bound by shared will, fear, and malice. It represents the peak of Boo collective consciousness, formed through an ancient Boo ritual believed to occur during heightened emotional resonance (typically anger, humiliation, or collective terror).
The entity was first observed within the Mansion’s Rooftop Parapet, drawn by residual fear energy emitted by both human and spectral inhabitants. Researchers theorize that the fusion occurred as a reactionary defense mechanism when the Boos were cornered or otherwise threatened.
Despite its size and power, Boolossus demonstrates limited intelligence when unified—its individual Boos’ personalities become suppressed, replaced by a singular, childlike rage. Only when fragmented do their cunning and individuality resurface.
CAUSE OF DEATH (THEORETICAL ANALYSIS)
As an amalgamate ghost, Boolossus’s “death” cannot be traced to one event or body. Instead, it is theorized to be the cumulative manifestation of Boos that perished together in emotional resonance—perhaps within the same catastrophic incident.
Potential theories include:
Mass Panic Death Event: A group of Boos was destroyed simultaneously during a powerful light-based cleansing ritual, fusing their fear into a singular retaliatory spirit.
Failed Containment Experiment: Early notes from Prof. E. Gadd’s pre-Mansion research mention the accidental merging of Boo samples when exposed to unregulated ectoplasmic magnetic fields.
Voluntary Fusion: Some records suggest Boos can merge deliberately to amplify strength against enemies of their kind. Boolossus may have been a failed attempt at permanent ascension.
PARANORMAL CHARACTERISTICS
Behavioral Pattern: Aggressive, territorial, and easily provoked by exposure to bright light or laughter.
Manifestation Site: Rooftop Arena, accessed via Attic Hatch.
Activity Cycle: Highly active at night; becomes dormant under direct sunlight or extreme cold.
Notable Abilities:
Amalgamation: Can merge and separate into multiple independent Boos at will.
Mass Compression: Generates strong gusts of wind or shockwaves through rapid expansion.
Fear Amplification: Emits a psychic hum that induces vertigo, disorientation, and mild paranoia in living observers.
Partial Invulnerability: Resistant to conventional ghost containment methods until fractured into component Boos.
PSYCHOLOGICAL PROFILE
Boolossus exhibits a hive-mind temperament dominated by simple emotions: fear, mockery, and aggression. When singular, the entity’s speech patterns reduce to unintelligible roars and laughter. When fragmented, its Boos demonstrate distinct personalities—mocking, whispering, and taunting intruders with remarkable coordination.
The creature’s most consistent drive is vengeance against isolation. It fears separation above all else, suggesting its creation was rooted in abandonment trauma or mass imprisonment.
CONTAINMENT PROCEDURES
Initial capture required experimental Cryogenic Light Nets (Prototype Series CL-2). The subject was fractured using cold vapor exposure, forcing separation of its composite Boos before individual containment. Once subdued, fragments were recombined under controlled conditions to stabilize energy output, then confined within Portrait Frame #016.
Containment Notes:
Portrait Frame #016 must remain in a refrigerated environment below 5°C to prevent spontaneous reformation attempts.
Audio monitoring indicates low-frequency whispers within the frame; all researchers are to wear noise-filtering headsets during inspection.
Do not expose Boolossus to mirrored surfaces or light amplification devices. Previous incidents show that reflective stimuli trigger “fusion agitation.”
NOTES FROM PROF. E. GADD
“A colossal Boo made of Boos—like a living snowball of spooks! Fascinating to study, miserable to capture. It’s like a tantrum with teeth. Even in its frame, it won’t stop humming... almost like it’s counting. Let’s hope it doesn’t reach whatever number comes next.”
