The Healer Heals Herself

There are many ways to deal with pain, choose wisely. Drugs, sex, you name it, there is something for everyone these days to escape reality. My choice however is self-awareness. I have a rebellious streak that resists the normal pursuit of abandonment. I love to learn more about myself and the ways in which I can heal myself, and what better way than through the spiritual modality of astrology. Through the study of astrology, I testify that I am a true Scorpio.

I once heard a myth that most serial killers are Scorpios, and I would not be surprised. We are often coined as the “crazy” zodiac. It is true we are intense, here is a little history lesson on us. We fall in the eighth astrological month, which is the height of fall. Traditionally around this time, people are strengthening their relationships and returning to themselves to find not only their life purpose, but their spiritual path. This symbolizes the innate nature of Scorpio, they appear very dormant on the outside, but are rich with expression and the means to rejuvenate on the inside. In Greek mythology, the Scorpio constellation appears behind the sun in the eighth astrological month. However, presently, it only appears the last five days during the month. The eighth astrological month is connected to the planetary alignment of Mars and Pluto, and the water element in its fixed form, aka neutral in power. This can be good or bad. Considering that this water sign is ruled by two planets, Scorpios can experience emotional expressiveness, but also the other extreme of suppressed emotions. Pluto, the Greek Lord of the Underworld, knows how to take everything to the extreme and this is often why Scorpios are considered “crazy”, but also uniquely sensitive. They are adept at understanding other’s emotions but can be easy to offend. They are also very powerful due to their alignment with Mars, again in the realm of their emotions. With maturity they will learn to balance their intimate relationships, but in general much of their understanding revolves around their emotional connection to the world. All this of course in nestled inside of them, rarely reflected outward.

Born November 6th, I can testify based on this description I am a true Scorpio sun sign. I appreciate who I am at my core, my radiating essence, and my ambitions as a true Scorpio. I am very methodical and appreciate what and how things tick, yet desire privacy and the comfort of intimacy. This has led me to want to be a healer and help others in the first place. With my birth date also being 6, this in numerology corresponds to the energy of the nurturer. Both energies combined ring true for Scorpio’s nature. I do find myself to not be as forgiving and at times vengeful, that is the shadow side of Scorpio that I am working on. It’s true, there is no middle ground with me. I am 0 or 100, but I think that kind of transparency is great. People always know where they stand with me. I am a woman of few words as well, but highly observant. I love to watch and interpret others. This makes sense for the career I have chosen, considering I am a scientist and am someone who loves to read and study. I have always done well in academia because of my investigative nature. When it comes to relationships, both intimate and platonic, I tend to prioritize others and put their needs above mine. For Scorpios, we often want our loved ones to feel cherished and do our best to make them feel loved. I am learning to balance this part me, and ensure that it is not too one sided, but that comes with maturity and I am only 23.
