Libra Moon: Bestial Harmony
Lunar Libras find their home in others, as their own sense of self becomes clear upon seeing themselves reflected in the mirrors of humanity.

The moon represents our instinct and emotional needs. She holds our inner world, feelings, memories, habits and nourishment. Reflective, permeable and adaptable to the environment, she looks to belong to a unit and have roots for the emotional security it provides, ensuring her survival. This luminary symbolizes our mother, our relationship with her and our own ability to nurture and care for others.
A lunar scale
In Libra, the moon finds emotional fulfillment in balance and harmony. It is through justice, fairness and social affairs that she'll find shelter and a sense of belonging. People with this placement are emotional peacemakers who strive for balance through eloquence, charm and aesthetic sensitivity. They are wonderful partners and friends; generous nurturers who will joyfully share and show sincere interest in your well-being. Lunar Libras find their home in others, as their own sense of self becomes clear upon seeing themselves reflected in the mirrors of humanity. Well-versed in relating, connecting and all kinds of social graces, they delight in bonding and accordance. They are courteous, flirty and sincere. Their magnetism will never fail to put you under their spell.
There's a caveat, though: they are haunted by dissatisfaction. Reality rams further into the façade, revealing that in their most unfortunate manifestation there can be an inclination towards depression. Let us not forget that this is an air moon; it has a brain, where feelings are placed in the mind.
There are differences between air moons. Aquarius is fulfilled by ideals and holds a love for humanity, a mental love. It feels at home when emotions aren't stained by the harshness of reality. Gemini finds their place in connecting as well, but it is mercurial. It revels in lighthearted, witty connections based on intellectual communication and newness. It prefers to withdraw from deep emotions as the further they go into one experience, the further they are from the next exciting, stimulating endeavor. What sets Libra apart is their Venusian quialities: they relate for the experience of connecting to another, they love love, pleasure, and beauty, yet no amount of diplomacy or grace can make up for the nasty, unrefined edges of neglected emotions.
We’ve all tried to tidy a room by stuffing all the junk in a box. A beautiful box. Ah yes, our aesthetics master in its purest form. We stand there, big chested and proud: “I am not ignoring it, I am aware it is there and I have successfully dealt with it!”. However, processing something doesn’t mean we are dealing with it. When we intellectualize our emotions, we don’t have to feel them. If they’re too painful or ugly, we can just stuff it in our inner box and fool ourselves into thinking we’re good, but the mess is still there. After a while, we can’t understand why we keep carrying anxiety on our backs. The strain caused by the very lack of balance they’ve been meaning to avoid.
Reluctance and disrelish
Libras are blessed with a gentle and loving, yet light-hearted disposition but that can come with complacency and frivolity. Air is light, clear and fresh. Nothing like the confusing, murky waters of the moon. The scales are heavy, and Libra can feel anchored, like they would sink to the floors of the sea, too close to the hideous creatures that lurk in the deep.
The discomfort can spill over onto their behavior. Sometimes, when trying to avoid inharmonious situations they can be too complacent or condescending, and shy away from conflict and decisiveness. Likewise, they might relate just for the sake of it and become involved in partnerships, unsure if the other person is good for them. Confrontation and integral connections are how we find stability, not hiding the grime of life behind emotional drywall. We may surround ourselves with harmony but we must never force it upon us. In essence, they have the best intentions, fulfilling an honest, well-meaning quest: bringing peace, beauty and justice to all. But extremes are bad, and the effort to harmonize can very quickly turn into demonize.
Libra is cardinal after all and will take action on its own accord. This might be the most important trial they’ll attend, assessing the realization that inner justice is found by accepting emotions and feeling them wholeheartedly, without the intrusion of the mind, and regardless of their irksome form. As their own judge and, they may not assess their emotions by their ease, virtue or flair, but by their wholeness. Autonomy allows for compromise, agreement and a forgiving attitude not only for others but for themselves.
Real harmony
Relief may be found by looking at emotions through a clear lense, in a unbiased way, without assigning meaning to them. Realizing they have limits as well and not everything is designed to be handled, leveled and aligned. Integrating Aries, its polar opposite, is advisable as well. Arians fend for themselves and take life in stride in a jovial, direct, and inspirational way.
For Libras, that is their sentence: understanding that what’s unjust is compulsively depriving themselves from distress, for real harmony has never meant to banish the unpleasant, but to balance and embrace the complete range of emotions that we hold within ourselves.
Special thanks to my favorite Libra moon, Lexi.
