Many years had passed since I last spoke loudly to my mother. I still vividly remember the words my father spoke that day, which silenced my voice and left a deep impression on me. He said, “Son, if after all your education you have not learned how to treat your elders, then don’t even think about going to college tomorrow. What is the use of education if it doesn’t make you a good human being? Even an uneducated man sifting mud outside a goldsmith’s shop often earns more than many educated people.” Those words stayed with me, shaping my understanding of respect, morality, and the real purpose of learning.
Years later, I experienced a similar life lesson regarding trust in Allah. During a difficult period, I held a small job that paid just a few thousand rupees. One day, something happened at work that I could not tolerate. Frustrated, I called my father for advice. He calmly said, “Do not resign unless you truly trust Allah. The Lord has promised sustenance to all His servants. If you believe in that promise, then leave the job without hesitation. If you do not, then you are only denying His authority.”
I followed his advice immediately, wrote my resignation, and spent four days unemployed. While I was anxious and worried, my father remained calm and confident. On the fifth day, I received a phone call from an organization where I had sent my CV a year ago, almost on a whim. The salary package they offered was three times higher than my previous job. Since that day, this pattern continued: whenever I left a job in trust of Allah, I was rewarded with something better, often beyond my expectations.
I have personally witnessed the countless blessings and favors of Allah. Once, while my father was building our house, we fell short of about one and a half lakh rupees for the tiles. We were all a little worried, yet my father calmly said, “Son, I have spent my life avoiding unlawful earnings and protecting you all from it. Not a single member of our family has ever taken anyone’s right. If I truly need help, Allah Himself will provide.” At the time, there seemed no solution or hope. My father’s employment was nearing its final months, yet unexpectedly, news arrived that he was awarded the title of Punjab’s Best Officer. The award included a cash prize, yet there was still a shortfall of fifty thousand rupees. My father said, “I did not compete for this; I only performed my duties. Allah, who recognized me as deserving of this honor, will also take care of the remaining need. I will not beg from anyone else.”
Sure enough, within the same week, the department also rewarded him as the best officer, along with a cash prize. The money arrived in full, with dignity, exceeding our actual needs. That day strengthened my faith immensely. I learned that if we do not take anyone else’s rights, Allah always takes care of us. My father’s life has been full of such miracles and divine favors. These seemingly ordinary events taught me lessons that no book could convey.
From that day on, Ino longer fear loss, failure, or scarcity of sustenance. I am perhaps the most idle member of my household; while everyone rises for Tahajjud, I often continue sleeping. Yet, Allah blesses me abundantly, far beyond my own imagination. I realized that true trust in Allah eliminates fear and fills the heart with patience, confidence, and hope. Even in the hardest circumstances, those who rely on Him are never left wanting. Life’s blessings unfold in unexpected ways, confirming that sincerity, honesty, and faith are always rewarded.
This story is a reminder that sustenance, success, and protection do not come from frantic efforts alone but from unwavering trust in the One who provides for all His creation.
