The Hum of Judgement

Caught between light and silence, the reckoning comes unannounced.

When power falters, even the invisible seesโ€”and waits.

When Putin woke, he was elsewhere. Walls closed in, capturing his breath. No pill. A hum wrapped him like an ill-fitting cloak.

"Your time's up. Do you need another month?" The drone's voice was โ€“

Robotic.

Androgynous.

It hovered, reflecting his befuddled face. It made no soundโ€”but approached.

Nearer.

And nearer.

Lights flickered, boring into his forehead, syncing with his thumping heartbeat.

Putin feltโ€” assessed. He stared it back in its light. He swallowed hard. Crossed trembling hands in front of his face.

The hum deafened. The light approached, releasing a gentle, resilient cocoon.

Enshrouding him for something incomprehensibleโ€”but there.

Well done. Brought me to picture the scene in the musical Scrooge when thye dance on his coffin singing Thank you very much. This was just a possible sequence but I can imagine someone doing that on Putin's coffin as he heads downstairs.

This is almost poetic, Michelle, poetic justice for the monster.
