Patch 6.66 — Bloodborne Edition

teenagers beware

By E. hasanPublished 10 months ago 3 min read
Ricky before his last moments ( this is an AI generated image)

Ricky was bored. A runaway teenager. .

Another Friday night. Another download from the dark corners of the web.

The game? "Hollow Sleep." Interesting.

New. Unfinished. Forbidden.

Exactly his kind of poison. gore attracts Ricky the most.

The file was unsettling even before it launched. That didn't matter, Ricky likes things abnormal.

Size: 66.6 MB.

Installer Name: hollowed_you.exe

Cute. Probably some knockoff garbage.

He double-clicked.

The screen dimmed instantly, plunging his room into syrupy darkness.

Static gnawed at the speakers, then a single frame flashed:

a hospital hallway, soaked red.

A body slumped in the corner, its insides strung along the walls like festive garlands. like show pieces hanging beautifully.

Maggots writhed in the viscera.

The main menu bled into existence:

"Play for Your Life."

Ricky grinned mockingly and pressed 'Start.'

The game was grotesque , just the way he likes.

Dr. Eli Vane — his character — explored the rotting guts of a deserted asylum.

The walls pulsed like breathing lungs.

Hands burst from the floor, trying to grab him.

Faces bloomed from the ceiling tiles, stitched together from suffering.

Ricky loved every second. enjoyed it fully.

Until his screen showed something impossible:

A map. so familiar .

An exact replica of his own apartment building.

Unit 409.

His unit.

His heart skipped a bit .

He tried to pause. The pause button disappeared.

The game refused.

A message scrawled itself across the blood-smeared walls onscreen:

"You're Next."

His phone rang, vibrating off of the desk. It kept on ringing. Ricky hesitated but eventually bent down to pick it up.

Unknown number.

He answered.

A wet, slithering voice rasped in a playful tone :

"Open the door, Ricky."

He looked towards his bedroom door, contemplating whether to open or not. That's when suddenly...

The door creaked open without him touching it.

Breathless, Ricky stumbled backward almost falling down.

From the black hall outside, something oozed into view.

It crawled on split elbows, dragging a body that looked... unfinished.

it's skin was ripped away with brute force.

Its flesh hung like torn curtains.

Its eyes — if they were eyes — stared without blinking, two pits of seething larvae.

A metallic scent — like pennies and rot — flooded the room.

Ricky tried to scream, but it came out as a whimper.

The creature reached him in two heartbeats.

Its jaws snapped apart, wider than any human mouth should, revealing rows of serrated bone.

It grabbed his leg with talons and yanked — skin tearing like wet paper.

He felt his tendons pop like snapped cables.

Still alive, still screaming, Ricky was dragged towards the screen.

Literally.

The monitor warped into a swirling vortex of gnashing teeth and glistening tongues.

He was swallowed whole.

One Week Later.

Authorities found Ricky's apartment in a state of pure carnage.

Blood pooled ankle-deep. Gut wrenching bloody rotten smell everywhere.

Handprints smeared on every wall — dozens of them — small, large, inhuman.

Ricky's remains were barely recognizable:

Bones chewed to splinters.

Teeth arranged neatly in a circle on the floor.

His face peeled off and nailed to the ceiling.

Police ruled it a brutal, deranged murder that was done by some cult.

They never found the game file. Because, they can't. It only shows itself to teenagers.

On forums too dark to mention, whispers spread:

"Patch 6.66 isn't a game. It's a gateway."

And once you play...

you don't leave alone.

You bring something back.

A new version surfaced days later — uploaded by a user named:

"Dr. Vane."

File Size: 66.6 MB.

Installer Name: sleepinside.exe

Some people — teenagers — fools — still downloaded it, thinking it's an ARG, a horror stunt.

They play.

They die.

They feed the Hollow.

The unsolved murder files stack up at the police stations. New cases add away.

And if you ever hear scratching at your door after midnight...

Don’t open it. you don't need to though. It will invite itself in.

No matter how sweetly it calls your name.

Because it will call you with a playful tone.

It always does.
