Moonlit Lovers

The stars to guide, the moon and a lifetime to grow

Moonlit Lovers

Silver light trembles on the quiet lake,

A perfect circle drifting through the dark.

Soft willow branches bow their secret heads,

And water keeps the hush of hidden dreams.

Night wraps the earth in velvet calm and grace,

While stars lean close to witness what unfolds.

Two shadows meet where moonlight spills like silk,

Their footsteps slow upon the waiting shore.

No need for words when eyes have learned to speak,

When breath finds rhythm in another breath.

The world grows small beyond their folded hands,

Time loosens its relentless counting here.

They move as though the night has taught them how,

A quiet turning in the silver glow.

Her head rests gently near his steady heart,

His fingers trace the promise of her name.

The lake reflects a thousand shattered stars,

Yet none outshine the fire within their gaze.

A distant owl keeps watch above the trees,

While ripples carry whispers far away.

Love is a tide that answers only truth,

A sacred hush that trembles into flame.

Beneath the moon their guarded walls fall down,

And longing finds the courage to be seen.

When dawn begins to pale the tender sky,

They linger where the dark and light entwine.

For once the night has marked two beating souls,

No rising sun can steal what they have known.

Moonlit and held in quiet, endless sway,

They leave as one, though walking side by side.
