It was innate to Lucy to keep her inner radar tuned to changes. It was one of Lucy Donovan’s most impressive qualities, one that had served her well since her early childhood.
For Lucy, it was like magic; a sixth sense telling her a change was coming into her life.
Like when she was called in before her parents announced they were getting divorced, and she and her siblings were moving out to a new country together with her mum.
Why, then, her extraordinary radar failed her now? Her life was in danger and there was nothing she could do.

Oh, no!
Great tension! I love how you build on Lucy’s instinctive radar—makes her current vulnerability even more intense. Excellent Drabble!
Excellent Drabble. I’ve wanted to write one for ages… maybe one day. The few times I’ve tried, I go too wound up & went over the word count.
If this was a prologue to a book, I would set everything else aside so I could read the rest of it. This was a fantastic Drabble. Sets the scene perfectly and leaves you wanting to know more. Brill.
So much anticipation and tension in this Drabble, Susan!
Sometimes we don't get it right, but we find ways to deal with it. Excellent thoughts
Hmmm, I wonder why too. Loved your drabble!
Women have this special thing called intuition. It's dangerous to live without intuition.
