'Forest ' by Frantisek Kobliha, 1909.

Introduction

This is inspired by the image shared on Facebook by The Enchanted Booklet here:

The music is "In Dark Trees" by Brian Eno.

In Dark Trees

On the edge of nowhere is a forest of dark trees. Four maidens had wandered and become lost, but they held each other's hands and stayed together.

They knew that they would be frightened here, alone, so hand gripped hand gripped hand gripped hand, and they would never let go. They knew they were stronger and safer together.

Through the dark trees they wandered in the blackness of the forest, knowing that if they trusted in themselves, no wolf, bear, or worst of all, man, could harm them.

It was a man who tricked them into being on the edge of nowhere. Now they walked through the darkness, hearing rustlings and murmurrings of ghostly forest denizens, but they had the protection of togetherness.

Finally, they came out of the dark trees into the sunshine and saw their village.

They were home, and they ran, filled with joy and happiness.

Hi MikeyDred - Things are very different in the world now since you wrote this (4) years ago (below.) Holding hands...can't we all get along! Best to you, BritBud jk.in.l.a.

What a great feel-good type of story, Mr. Mike. A story that says if we all stick together things will work out hopefully.

  • Interesting writing. I hope that you purged all those feelings from your mind and your body. I know I would miss you if you were gone.

  • I went to see a medicine man yesterday as I have some depression symptoms. Memory and spaciness are the most troubling. I was checked for dementia. No sign of that and no markers for that. I don't feel depressed most of the time and yet a friend said, "Everyone is depressed now! How could they not be?" Okay, and what do we do? I have a counseling appointment in June. It takes forever to get an appt. I guess that means I am not the only one. And I will take the medicine the medicine man gave me. Not one but 2 medicines. And I write and that helps! And I read and that helps!

We would all (on Vocal and Medium) be missing so much if you were not there. You always offer caring and encouraging words when someone is feeling down,as you are now. Think seriously how many things would not be better without you. Watch the James Stewart movie "it's a Wonderful Life'. That will make what I am saying more clear.

We have all felt that way in our lives. The truth of the matter is that we often have a warped view of ourselves. You never know who you may impact. ;-)
