3 tips for First Time Moms

By Sus CaboosePublished 4 years ago 3 min read

After the wonderful moment of a positive pregnancy test, comes a rollercoaster of emontions. That's ok. With these 3 tips, you should feel in control. I believe it's important to make lists to keep you on track, ask as many questions, and take care of yourself. Remember that you are not alone through out this journey.

Now, more than ever there is no time on falling behind. Depending on how you work best, whether that is digial or physcial, it is important to plan things ahead of time to releave stress. Have a sit down with your partner and figure out what you would like to do first and last. This can include from how and when to tell family and friends about the news. To scheduling your first appointment. To planning the day your water breaks. You will have 9 months to plan everything. My tip to you is to separate your needs by trimaster. The 1st trimaster should be about sharing the news, setting the appointments, planning a baby shower, searching about your health and baby's, and to NOT compare yourself to any other mom. The 2nd trimaster should be ALL ABOUT YOU. Nothing is more important than your health because your health is the baby's health. Now that the morning sickness is over. Eat small amounts of food at a time and drink the most water as you possibly can. The 3rd trimaster is game time. Whatever you feel like you need and wasn't gifted to you. It is time to shop for last minute items. This could be a car seat or postpartum care products. Setting up the nursry and preparing your body to deliever could be challanging. Not going to lie, you will need all the help you can get from your partner. Everything should be set for baby's arrival.

Pregnancy can be overwhelming. Write or type all the questions you or your partner may have. Having a stress free set of mind is key. The worst thing you or your partner can do is panic. That will get you nowhere and helps no one. The more you ask questions the more you stay calm. After, watch birthing classes or going to birthing classes. You should have a pretty good idea about what is heading your way. Do not feel like you have to remember everything right away. The midwive will be giudging you through the procress. Learn as much as you can to make you feel comformable but not to stress you out. It never hurts to ask questions. Never.

If I said it once I'll say it again. Take care of youself. I can not stress that enough. Your body is creating another body. Think about that for a second. It's an amazing exprence that you want to keep in great health. Drink at least 60 oz of water everyday since day 1. It could get boring but there is favorful water and sparkling water to change things up every once in a while. Water alone has so many benefits to the human body. Image what it can do to a baby. Also, if you want you kid to eat it's fruits and vegetables. You will have to eat them while pregnant. Whatever you are eating the baby is tasting. The baby is learning a lot while it's developing. Keep that in mind. I'm not saying that you can't have what you are carving. Make your that you are balancing it out with protein and fiber at least. Protein helps to give you enegry and fiber will help with the constipation. Believe me when I say that you will need fiber more than protein. One more thing that I would like to share is to be slow. As baby grows, your center of gravity changes. Get out of bed slowly. Walk slowly. Breath slowly. With big changes happening everyday. It is important to enjoy the moment. There is no shame to be slow. You are PREGNANT. You are allowed to do what feels good.

Congradulation!!!! You are having a baby!!!! You are going to do great. Never underestimate the power of the human body. You can do this. You'll get through it. And you will love it. I'm so happy for you. Breath in and out.
