The Message in My Bag

When a Message Finds You Before You’re Ready

By JATIN Published 9 months ago 3 min read

It had been almost 4 hours since I had been sitting on the bus, lost in my thoughts. I kept asking myself, "What am I doing with my life?" I couldn’t understand why I felt so lost. The trip had already felt long, and everything seemed confusing. I felt like I was just going through the motions without knowing the real reason. After listening to a few songs, I suddenly got a strange feeling. A message popped up on my phone. But who was it from? I had no idea.

Curious, I took my phone out of my bag. I saw that I had 50 missed calls and several unread messages. I stared at the phone in confusion. "Who could this be?" I thought to myself. I felt a little nervous, not knowing if I should call back or not. But after a moment, I decided to pick up the phone and dial the number back. I was worried. Maybe it was an important call.

As I waited, the phone kept ringing. And then, finally, someone picked up. "Hello?" I heard a strange voice on the other end. "This is the hotel calling. You left some things behind." My heart skipped a beat. "The hotel?" I asked myself. I was a bit confused. "What things?" I wondered. "Did I forget something at the hotel?"

The voice on the other side of the phone continued, "Yes, you left some things here. You can come and pick them up whenever you want." I was completely startled. I didn’t remember leaving anything behind. My mind was racing. I thought about going back to the hotel. But I wasn’t sure if I had the energy to go back. I was tired, and I had very little money left. But I made up my mind. I decided to head back.

I quickly looked at my ticket and, despite not having much money, I decided to pay and get off the bus. I needed to go back. I didn’t want to leave something important behind. I thought, "Maybe this is a sign. I should go back." I knew I couldn’t ignore the message.

When I checked my bag, something strange happened. I found a pair of headphones, some chocolates, and a small, sweet message. I was confused. "How did these things end up in my bag?" I thought. I didn’t remember putting them there. Was this a mistake? Did someone else put them there? My mind raced with questions.

Then, a thought crossed my mind. "Maybe the girl I met earlier while traveling put these things in my bag. Maybe when I fell asleep, she placed them there." The thought made me even more anxious. I tried to read the message, but it was written in a language I couldn’t understand. The words seemed strange, and I couldn’t figure out what it said. "Could she be trying to tell me something?" I wondered. "What does this mean?"

I didn’t know who the girl was or why she left these things in my bag. It all felt like a mystery that I couldn’t solve. Was she trying to reach out to me? Was this some kind of clue? Or was it all just a strange coincidence? The more I thought about it, the more I felt unsure.

Finally, I reached the hotel. I got off the bus and looked around. But the hotel seemed quiet. There was no one at the reception. I walked in and called the staff, saying, "I think I left some things behind." They picked up and said, "Yes, we have your belongings." My heart felt a bit lighter.

I went to the counter, picked up my things, and then showed them the message I had found. The staff member looked at it for a moment and then explained, "This is a local language. Some people here understand it." I felt confused. What did this mean? Who wrote this message? And what was I supposed to do with it?

The more I thought about it, the more questions I had. I still couldn’t figure out who the girl was or why she left those items in my bag. And the message? It was still a mystery. Was it a clue? Or was it just something random? It seemed like there was more to the story, but I couldn’t understand it yet.

As I left the hotel, I kept wondering about the girl and the message. What was she trying to tell me? Why did she leave those things for me? I couldn’t stop thinking about it. Maybe this was just the beginning of a bigger mystery. Maybe the message and the girl were a sign that something more important was about to happen. But for now, all I had was the feeling that this was just the start of something bigger.
