Mitochondria is to your body
As Generator is to your house
Imagine a house without a generator! You won't have lights. You won't drink cold water. You won't cook your favourite dish! Many things can go wrong. You see, with a generator, a house in a remote village can still have access to electricity as long as there is fuel, which in turn makes life easy.
Well, your body houses many little generators called mitochondria. These are fueled by the food you consume to give you energy to work, play, think, etc.
The thing with mitochondria is that they wear out with age. Hence as one gets older, he or she becomes weak. However, if you do resistance exercises like mountain climbing, bicycle riding, etc you build up more mitochondria in your body and keep you younger still.
Eating food such as fish, nuts, berries, dark leafy greens, coloured vegetables etc help to protect and maintain your mitochondria.
The more mitochondria you have in your body, the more stronger and younger you become.
So eat healthy and do more resistance exercise. I hate climbing the stairs to the 3rd floor of the building where my office is and I usually take the lift. But now that I know, damn! I'm taking the stairs. Meet me half way? Hehehe.
