Businesswoman Chapter 360
Tumult in the streets begins.
“Yes! She actually sent the scanned sheet with pencil and paper. Only Businesswoman!” The head engineer Kepler Bins looked at the computers around the room. All around him engineers made adjustments according to the new correspondence. Houston engineers smiled and whooped.
On the other side of the nation, the Delawareans rejoiced together.
“We’re going to Florida!” Lisa exclaimed. She popped the most expensive bottle of champagne. The suds slid down the body of the cold bottle. Entrepreneur Paul grabbed some glasses and poured for Lisa and Loreen. He raised his glass.
“To very profitable excursions,” he toasted and sipped. They cheered again. Then a text appeared on their phones.
The roars and laughter vanished from the room. The text read: “WE’RE HERE.”
Loreen’s face turned to granite. Lisa looked on the verge of tears. Entrepreneur Paul grabbed his pistol.
“What’s happening?” Lisa asked, worry seeping into her voice. “What is happening?”
“The revolution,” Entrepreneur Paul reassured with his even tone.
“We’re going to all go to the base of Diamante Bank. You won’t need your firearm. It’s going to be a clean break for them. They don’t want to hurt anyone. They’re just focused on terror without the atrocities.”
The Collectivists drew a crowd. Some people knew exactly what was going on, others looked red-eyed and wondered at the actions surrounding them. Common Man, Socialista, and Fascinder stood on top of cars with megaphones.
“We’re here to lay down the law on these ‘people’ who feel that money is here for only them,” Socialista broadcasted. Cheers erupted.
“We’re here for the grubby ones who don’t know how to spread it around. So they want to send rockets into the air while babies die of starvation here on Earth!” Common Man shouted.
Fascinder crouched and replied in the speaker. “Do it.”

Sparrow on a Plank Chapter 14: Bribes and Paper Prisons
The inspectors had already come and gone, their pockets considerably heavier than when they had come aboard. The inspection was a farce, but luckily a quick one; there were goods that even a large bribe wouldn't protect, and a sizable number of those were on board the Hell's Wrath, waiting for pick up. It was fun to watch Rick go into his act as a first mate on a “poor cargo ship”, bargaining for the lowest bribe he would pay. The inspectors got into the spirit of things, and so there was the quick conflict of supply and demand, as the inspectors demanded what they could from the supply of funds that they had been given for bribes. In the end, thanks to a mix of Rick's bargaining skill and the inspectors' lack of recent entertainment, the bribes were half what they had estimated. Captain Taylor breathed a sigh of relief when the last so-called inspector left, with all goods still on board, and the remainder of the bribe money going into a party fund.
