KiTe's New Single "Shadows"
On his new single, the Singapore born, Melbourne based R&B artist, explores the emotional loops of love, loss and self awareness.

There’s something quietly beautiful about KiTe’s new single “Shadows.”
With a smooth R&B production, introspective lyrics and vocals that are equal parts fragile and assured, "Shadows| captures that disorienting emotional space between heartbreak and healing.
For Singapore-born Melbourne-based artist KiTe, this song is more than just another release though - it is also a moment of reflection. He describes “Shadows” as a response to the feeling of being “trapped” in toxic relationships, whether romantic or platonic.
“The dark but dreamy production of the song is to paint the picture of being in a loop of bad dreams, where it is hard to ‘wake up’ from,” he says. That imagery rings true throughout the track It’s a swirl of soft synths and subtle percussion carried by a voice that never overstates itself but always says enough.
The production on "Shadows" has a real clarity. The pre chorus feels especially intimate, when KiTe admits that "shining the light" on truths and authenticity can sometimes push people further away. It is a strikingly mature reflection, one that acknowledges how vulnerability can feel like both freedom and exposure.
You can hear echoes of his influences like Keshi, Bryson Tiller, DEAN, ASTN and Junny in the sleek sound and atmospheric production.
But KiTe is refining his own vibe. His music sits in that sweet spot between the lush smoothness of modern R&B and the storytelling of early 2000's pop. It's chill but felt, melodic but honest, and it's a combination that gives his sound real longevity.
Before music became his full time pursuit, KiTe studied engineering, a background that continues to influence the way he approaches his music.
“There is certain structure that I would lean towards, such as building of drum patterns, chords and mixing/mastering,” he explains. That precision comes through in his production choices with every texture and rhythm being well integrated even when the song drifts in dreamlike haze. His engineering mindset pairs really well with his emotional intuition.
KiTe began producing at just sixteen, starting from a dining table setup and slowly building his music from the ground up. He has performed in Mando Pop singing contests, where he achieved a Top 5 placement, and local live events that helped him refine his stage presence and confidence.

Over the years, he has grown into a multi dimensional artist - producer, songwriter and vocalist, capable of wearing each hat with grace. As well as his own music, KiTe has been writing and producing for other artists, even pitching songs for K pop groups.
But what keeps listeners coming back is his authenticity. KiTe’s songs don’t rely on heavy production tricks or flashy hooks but more a lived in feeling. “Shadows” is a perfect example of this. The song sits somewhere between solitude and connection, pain and peace - and that’s where KiTe truly shines.
As he continues to build his identity and sound as a music artist, KiTe represents a new generation of Asian artists confidently bridging cultures, genres, and emotions, proving that global pop doesn’t need to lose its soul to find its audience.
